Today, August 28, 2025, the tech world saw a flurry of activity with Samsung officially announcing its next Galaxy event, Amazfit expanding its fitness tracker lineup in India, and WhatsApp introducing significant new features for its users. From AI-powered messaging to advanced health wearables, these developments signal ongoing innovation across the mobile and health technology sectors.
Samsung Sets Stage for Next Galaxy Event with AI Focus
Samsung has officially confirmed a highly anticipated Galaxy event scheduled for September 4, 2025, positioning it strategically just before Apple’s expected iPhone 17 series launch. The event is poised to be a major showcase for new Galaxy AI experiences, alongside the unveiling of the Galaxy Tab S11 series and a new member of the Galaxy S25 family, widely believed to be the Galaxy S25 FE (Fan Edition). The South Korean tech giant aims to introduce a more seamless mobile experience across its diverse device range and is expected to debut OneUI 8.
Anticipated Galaxy Devices and AI Integration
The upcoming Galaxy S25 FE is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to be powered by a Samsung Exynos 2400e processor, coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, running on Android 16 OS with OneUI 8. Photography enthusiasts can anticipate a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP secondary shooter, and a macro lens, while the front camera is expected to be 10MP. The device is also projected to have a 4,900mAh battery supporting 45W wired and 25W wireless charging.
For tablet enthusiasts, the Galaxy Tab S11 series, including the Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra, is expected to make an appearance. Reports suggest these premium tablets will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipsets, promising robust performance. Speculation also hints at a potential unveiling or tease of Samsung’s Mixed Reality (XR) headset, codenamed “Project Moohan,” which could directly compete with Apple’s Vision Pro. The event will be live-streamed on Samsung’s official website and YouTube channel.

WhatsApp Unveils AI-Powered Writing Help and Chat Filters
WhatsApp is enhancing its messaging platform with new functionalities, rolling out chat filtering for its macOS application and introducing an AI-powered “Writing Help” feature. These updates aim to streamline user experience and provide intelligent assistance for message composition.
Chat Filtering for macOS
The latest update for WhatsApp on macOS, version 25.22.79, brings a new chat filtering feature, mirroring capabilities already available on iOS and Android. This allows users to organize their chat lists more efficiently using filters such as “Unread,” “Favourites,” and “Groups,” making it easier to navigate through conversations. The filters appear at the top of the chat list, providing quick access to specific categories of messages.
AI-Powered “Writing Help” Feature
WhatsApp has also launched an AI-powered “Writing Help” feature designed to assist users in drafting, rephrasing, and editing messages. This tool enables users to adjust the tone, proofread, and rephrase their messages with instant AI suggestions. Crucially, Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, states that this feature is powered by its Private Processing technology, ensuring that neither Meta nor WhatsApp can access or read the users’ original messages or the AI-generated suggestions, thereby maintaining privacy.
The “Writing Help” feature is rolling out initially in English in select countries, with plans for broader availability and additional language support later this year. It is an optional feature, disabled by default, giving users control over their messaging experience. Users can access this new functionality via a pencil icon when drafting a message, which then provides alternative drafts in various styles, such as professional, funny, or supportive.
