Sara Tendulkar, daughter of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, has recently opened up about a persistent back injury she has managed for approximately 12 years, crediting her fitness-oriented parents and the incorporation of Pilates into her regimen for her sustained well-being. The revelation sheds light on her personal journey with health and wellness, which has culminated in her opening a Pilates studio in Mumbai.

Early Struggles with a Disc Issue and Parental Influence

Tendulkar, now 28, shared that she has been dealing with a disc issue since she was around 12 years old. This long-standing condition often caused back pain, particularly during strength training. Her childhood was shaped by the fitness-conscious lifestyle of her parents, Sachin and Anjali Tendulkar, where discussions about movement, nutrition, and staying active were common. This upbringing instilled in her the value of wellness, even as she navigated her own health challenges.

Clinical dietitian Garima Goyal affirmed that Pilates is excellent for back injuries because it is low impact, emphasizes core engagement and spinal stabilization, and strengthens deep muscles to correct posture and reduce pain without triggering flare-ups. Tendulkar now dedicates several days a week to a mixed fitness regimen of Pilates and strength training, preferring morning workouts for discipline.

Her passion for Pilates evolved into an entrepreneurial endeavor. Upon returning to Mumbai, Sara Tendulkar joined a Pilates academy that was franchising, which inspired her to open her own studio.
