Socialite and “Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives” star Shalini Passi has openly shared insights into her rigorous fitness routine and her decision to no longer cook, revealing she mastered various cuisines in her early twenties. Passi emphasizes a disciplined lifestyle focused on wellness and sustenance over indulgence.

A Day in Shalini Passi’s Fitness and Wellness Regimen

Passi’s daily routine is meticulously structured, beginning early and prioritizing both mental and physical well-being. She credits her youthful vitality to this stringent approach.

Morning Rituals and Meditation

Her mornings commence with 20 to 40 minutes of meditation or prayer, setting a calm tone for the day ahead. This spiritual practice is a cornerstone of her routine, contributing to her overall positivity and grounding.

Intensive Afternoon Workouts

Physical activity is a non-negotiable part of Passi’s day. From 4 PM to 6 PM, she engages in a demanding two-hour workout. This includes an hour of dance for cardio, followed by an hour dedicated to Pilates and weight training. While she used to practice yoga regularly, she no longer actively does so, focusing instead on meditation and breathing exercises.

The Importance of Sleep and Mindset

Beyond exercise, Passi underscores the critical role of adequate sleep for overall health and radiant skin. She also maintains a positive outlook, considering positivity a daily choice that requires effort.

Shalini Passi’s Unique Dietary Philosophy

Passi adheres to a strict, predominantly raw and Ayurvedic diet, which she credits for her radiant complexion and sustained energy. Her approach views food primarily as fuel rather than a source of indulgence.

Starting the Day Right: Ghee and Juices

Her day begins with a shot of ghee, followed by a handful of almonds and walnuts. She then consumes an array of fresh juices, including beetroot mixed with amla and ginger, celery juice, red juice, and a thick, unstrained sprout juice. This method of pulping sprouts allows her to consume more nutrients than by chewing them. She also incorporates capsicum juice and avocado into her diet.

Raw Foods and Customized Meals

Passi maintains a raw food diet until 6 PM. Her pre-workout meal typically consists of fresh fruits, providing natural sugars and vitamins. Dinner, served by 7 PM, is strictly home-cooked and comprises unstrained vegetable soups made from a variety of ingredients like spinach, broccoli, tomato, capsicum, ladyfinger, lotus stem, peas, and leek. She has also stated she doesn’t eat common Indian staples like dal-chawal.

Interestingly, Shalini Passi consumes her meals at room temperature, deliberately detaching from the “taste” aspect of food to better focus on her work. She notes that her household operates with a unique culinary system where different diets are prepared for each family member, although they all eat at the same time. On days when she doesn’t visit the temple, her diet might include non-vegetarian options like egg, fish, or chicken for protein.

Avoiding Indulgences

Passi strictly avoids alcohol, smoking, aerated drinks, sugar, and high-carbohydrate foods. She emphasizes that she has a “natural high” and doesn’t feel the need for cheat meals or sweets, though she will occasionally indulge if she truly enjoys something.

Why Shalini Passi No Longer Cooks

Despite her current hands-off approach in the kitchen, Shalini Passi is a skilled cook. She revealed that she learned to cook extensively at the age of 20 or 21, taking it personally when someone questioned her mother’s culinary tutelage. This spurred her to master a range of cuisines, including Chinese, Thai, and various Indian dishes, such as Hyderabadi Biryani.

However, she no longer dedicates time to cooking. Her primary reason stems from the diverse dietary needs within her family. She explained that “everybody is on a diet,” her son requires specific portions, and she herself adheres to a strict regimen. In essence, the customized and precise nature of their family’s dietary requirements means the cooking is handled by her household staff, allowing her to view her “house as her favorite chef.” Passi even humorously quipped that the “only thing I cook or bake is my makeup” now.
